About Hansard Plus

Hansard Plus is the working title for a proposed service/platform for searching and exploring the Australian parliamentary Hansard. This prototype aims to show the benefit of improving access to Hansard for research.

This is achieved by scraping and parsing the public (XML) data from the official web site, and injecting the processed data into a modern database.

This prototype provides a search interface for Hansard data from 2013 onwards with bulk data export functionality. Placeholder pages elaborate on proposed additional features including bills, documents and an application programming interface (API).
